In an area that is now fragmented and where extended space is rare, where everything seems to be juxtaposed with no real connection, the new district park seemed to represent a return to a tradition of big geographical sequences: a full kilometre, a connecting line between the old village and the new district.
The new park is linked with the feeder road: this promenade is a sort of parkway, wide and generous, which combines several scales of use and every form of transport.
The new park is not only the Monges district park: it is a shared space between the village and the new dwellings. In addition, it is a landscape amenity whose appeal will extend beyond the boundaries of Cornebarrieu.
